Sheraton 2020, a nod to the plan’s clear five year vision, includes a new $100 million Sheraton-focused marketing campaign; the launch of the new premier tier, Sheraton Grand; continuous innovation of the Sheraton guest experience; an unwavering commitment to service excellence; the implementation of revenue and profit-driving initiatives to benefit owners and developers; and a goal of opening more than 150 new Sheraton hotels worldwide by 2020.

      This report focuses on the geographical aspects of hotel WiFi. Two characteristics of hotel WiFi are considered: the quality of the WiFi and whether in-room WiFi is free. WiFi Quality is expressed by the percentage of hotels that offer adequate WiFi quality in a given geographical area. This type of ranking is easy to understand, and it makes perfect sense from a practical standpoint. For most travelers, having super-fast and consistently stable WiFi is a great bonus, but their first priority is ensuring that basic quality expectations for Internet access are met.

        International tourist arrivals reached 1,138 million in 2014, a 4.7% increase over the previous year, according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. For 2015, UNWTO forecasts international tourism to grow by 3% to 4%, further contributing to the global economic recovery.

              International tourist arrivals worldwide grew by 5% during the first eight months of 2014 according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. Despite geopolitical challenges and a lingering economic recovery, tourism demand was strong during the northern hemisphere high season of June to August.

                      Cleveland, 17 July 2014 – Vantage Hospitality Group today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire America’s Best Franchising, Inc.’s hotel brands – America’s Best Inns & Suites, Country Hearth Inns & Suites, Jameson Inn, Jameson Suites, Signature Inn, and 3 Palms Hotels & Resorts, and ABF’s license for the Budgetel Inns & Suites brand.

                      J.D. Power Reports: Hotel Satisfaction Reaches Record High; Gen Y Guests Are More Critical But Not Necessarily Less Loyal

                        Westlake Village, California – 16 July 2014 – Hotel guest satisfaction has reached its highest level since J.D. Power revised its methodology in 2006, according to the J.D. Power 2014 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study released today. The study, now in its 18th year, measures overall guest satisfaction across eight hotel segments: luxury; upper upscale; upscale; midscale full service; midscale; economy/budget; upper extended stay; and extended stay. Seven key factors are examined in each segment to determine overall satisfaction: reservation; check-in/check-out; guest room; food and beverage; hotel services; hotel facilities; and cost and fees.

                        CPI Hotels Expands into European Market with Recent Acquisition of Mamaison Hotels & Residences

                          CPI Hotels is expanding its activities in the Czech Republic and has also entered into the European market. The portfolio of one of the largest Czech hotel groups has, as of 1 July 2014, grown by the addition of Mamaison Hotels & Residences operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Russia. The current 18 hotels of the Buddha-Bar Hotels & Resorts, Clarion Hotels, Fortuna Hotels, Spa & Kur Hotels and Ubytovny.cz brands will now be extended by Mamaison hotels in Prague and Ostrava – CPI Hotels becomes a new operator of Mamaison Hotel Riverside Prague, Mamaison Residence Belgicka Prague and Mamaison Business & Conference Hotel Imperial Ostrava. The hotel group will also receive an additional 7 hotels located in Bratislava, Warsaw, Budapest and Moscow under the management contract.

                                Marriott Rewards ranks highest among hotel loyalty/rewards programs with an overall customer satisfaction score of 707 on a 1,000 point scale, according to the inaugural J.D. Power 2014 Hotel Loyalty/Rewards Program Satisfaction Report released today. The report measures customer satisfaction by examining five factors (in order of importance): account maintenance/management (23%); ease of redeeming points/miles (22%); ease of earning points/miles (18%); reward program terms and ease of earning points/miles (16%); and customer service (5%).

                                GBTA Study Identifies Top Business Traveler Concerns When On the Road: Majority of Road Warriors Have Encountered a Mishap While Traveling in the Past Year – 46% of Business Travelers are Not Offered Corporate Travel Insurance Policy

                                  The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) recently surveyed more than 500 business travelers in the United States and identified the top setbacks, disruptions and concerns travelers encounter while on the road. The GBTA study, Business Traveler Mishaps: The Real Risk of Business Travel, found that during the past 12 months, 75% of travelers encountered a mishap while traveling to their business destinations.

                                  Hotel transactions reach post downturn peak as Middle Eastern investors step up interest

                                    London – March 3rd, 2014 – European hotel transaction volume in 2013 reached a new peak since the onset of the global financial crisis, signalling a comeback of the hotel real estate market. HVS reports that total transaction volume across Europe reached €7.7 billion in 2013, a 39% increase on the €5.6 billion recorded in 2012. The first quarter of 2013 accounted for more than half of the year’s total transaction volume, totalling €4.2 billion.
